It’s easy to think that Bioware’s Anthem, the upcoming shared world online third person shooter that turned heads at E3 2017, couldn’t possibly look that good. But no, it’s true, at least according to EA’s Patrick Soderlund.
Speaking to Digital Foundry, Soderland said that Anthem was running in real-time on the Xbox One X. Digital Foundry for its part analysed the demo and found that it used 2160p checkerboarding. With that kind of resolution, which Frostbite is capable of on consoles, it is indeed possible that Anthem was running on the Xbox One X.
We don’t know much about Bioware’s Anthem at this point aside from it having a huge open world to explore, co-op support for up to four players and a collection of exo suits called Javelins that players can use to venture into the world. It’s slated for release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in Fall 2018.
